Video Games to Now Include Health and Beauty Tips

A Japanese software maker is planning to launch a skincare guide to be used on Nintendo Co. Ltd's popular portable game gear DS. The software gives beauty tips based on the user's basal body temperature and hormone balance.

Konami Corp., maker of Pro Evolution Soccer, said that by marking a target date such as a wedding in the software, DS users can get customized, daily skincare instructions to prepare for the big day.

Naoyuki Notsu, Corporate Officer of Konami Digital Entertainment, said at a news conference that the software was designed under the concept of having fun while taking care of your skin's health.

The DS has two screens, opens like a book and allows gamers to control play with a stylus instead of having to use a keypad. This playing style and software have helped the company expand its clientele from young men to women and even the elderly.

The skincare software will go on sale on October 18 in Japan, but the company has no immediate plans for an overseas launch.
