Facelift Patients Don't Resemble Passport Photo, Hassled by Customs

Plastic surgery tourism is a booming industry, and many people are traveling to remote destinations in order to combine their plastic surgery procedure with a luxurious vacation. However, as 23 Chinese women recently discovered, not all procedures are ideally suited for a vacation destination package.

These women all traveled to Seoul, South Korea for facial plastic surgery. The procedures performed on these women included facelifts, rhinoplasty, chin lifts, and blepharoplasty.

It seems that in this particular circumstance, the surgeon might have done his job too well. When the women returned to China, they were immediately detained by the customs agents on duty. Apparently, their extensive facial plastic surgery altered their appearance enough to make the customs agents doubt that the women were in fact who they said they were.

The women were asked to remove their hats and sunglasses in order to more carefully scrutinize their bandaged faces. The women's appearances had changed dramatically enough that they no longer resembled their old passport photos.

After getting grilled for several minutes by customs agents, the women were finally allowed to enter the country, but they were told to update their passport photos at once.

If you are going to leave your country for plastic surgery, make sure you will still resemble your old self enough to get home. Otherwise, you may find yourself wandering the remote corners of the earth as a nomad.

With a booming theater district and an abundance of museums, restaurants, and tourist attractions, New York City makes an excellent destination for an aspiring plastic surgery tourist.
