Dr. Placik received his medical degree from Northwestern University where he completed residencies in plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as general surgery. He has also completed a fellowship at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago in aesthetic reconstruction of complex nasal and facial deformities. Additionally, he completed a fellowship at Davies Medical Center in San Francisco, an affiliate of the University of California, in hand and microvascular surgery. His extensive training ensures that each surgery will be a success.

Dr. Placik is an American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc.® certified diplomate. He is an active member of several national and local medical organizations, and The American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

As a member of the teaching staff at Northwestern University Division of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Placik has an academic appointment as the Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery (Plastic). He also works at the Shriner's Hospital reconstructing complex pediatric deformities for crippled children in Chicago. Dr. Placik has been appointed by Evanston Northwestern Healthcare (Evanston and Glenbrook Hospitals), and Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
