American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR) was established in 1938, and is dedicated to advancing the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation, promoting excellence in physiatric practice, and advocating on public policy issues related to disability. With more than 7,000 members, AAPMR represents more than 87 percent of U.S. physiatrists and international colleagues from 37 countries. AAPMR strives to be the leader in assisting Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physicians to acquire the continuing education, practice knowledge, leadership skills, and research information needed to provide quality patient care, and to represent the best interests of patients with, or at risk for, temporary or permanent disabilities.
