American Association for Medical Transcription
Established in 1978 in efforts to achieve recognition for the medical transcription profession, the American Association for Medical Transcription (AAMT) is dedicated to educating medical professionals about medical transcriptionists, what they do, and how their work contributes to patient safety and risk management. AAMT is also in place to give a voice to thousands of MTs before legislative agencies, and support legislation designed to improve quality of healthcare documentation and advance healthcare documentation professionals. To sustain their members' knowledge of
trends and challenges of medical transcription, AAMT published Journal of the American Association for Medical Transcription on a monthly basis.
